On more than one occasion I have been asked by females what they should be concerned with when tracking hormones. I find the male part of the equation challenging enough. I am usually at a loss for words and have no where to direct them. They want to be able to go into their doctor and ask to have the right labs ordered. What would make up the labs for a comprehensive test for a young lady, age 25, wanting to have a solid baseline? Would Rheins 24 hour plus a spectracell be a good reference to give? On thyroid? TSH, T3, T4, RT3, RT4, Globulin, other? Any references would be appreciated.
