I can see things I wouldn't consider wise to do...

    1. Put Chlorine bleach on rubber seals
(plenty of non-bleach washing machine cleaner fluids available in UK & Europe, I would be surprised if you don't have them too.)

    2. mix chlorine based bleach with ANYTHING. I have personally investigated injury cases caused by mixing bleach with other cleaners, the acid content in many cleaning products means the production of toxic and irritant Chlorine gas can result, it's often not clear what the ingredients of cleaning products are, and the results can be rather unpleasant!

    3. Use chlorine bleach as a last resort on many fabrics for stains... try Oxygen bleach first, chlorine can yellow fabric badly!

If your front-loading washing machine (all European machines are this type) stinks, clean out the trap and filter first of all. Amazing what you can find there!
Second, try cleaners that de-scale the interior too, the lime-scale tends to help a slimy bacterial or mould growth build up, as well as wasting electricity by building up on the heating element.

I do wish they would invent an airing vent though... the only way to be sure it doesn't gunk up and stink seems to be leave the door open, which is not ideal in many locations :-(

I agree with all that Picton has said. Most European and UK washers are front-loaders but I can't say I have ever had mildew problems. That's probably due to frequent use (2 - 3 washes per week).
Another difference between European and UK machines is that we only have a cold water inlet, unlike the UK machines that always have both hot and cold inlets. I don't know about US machines but I doubt that this would affect mould growth.
I think front-loaders are a relatively new feature in the US domestic electrical market so perhaps the appropriate detergents are not being used in all cases.

No UK models don't have hot water inlet now.... it's been quite some time since they did, (last one I had was made in the mid 80's) all cold fill; even cold wash, although I must admit I haven't gone to this extreme yet, despite my detergents being suitable for this, I think it's rather more common in mainland Europe to cold wash, old habits seem to take a long time to change here.

Oddly the worst mould growth problem I get is in the (relatively clean detergent dispenser area!) It is a Siemens, but others have done this too. Thankfully it's the easiest area to clean

Thanks for the update. It must make the manufacturers happy if they can sell the same models in the UK and in Europe. There is certainly a trend towards colder washes in Europe and modern machines often have settings from 30 deg C up to 90 deg C. Detergents are graded according to the wash temperature.
Mould growth is dependent on the presence of spores in the atmosphere and, while we don't get any in the washine machine, we do get it in between the tiles in the shower/bathroom. I usually remove it once a year with a steam blaster but I have just fitted a centifugal fan that is fantastic. It has almost completely eliminated condensation when taking a shower. Hopefully that will reduce or eliminate the mould growth.

    Solution-----> VPN Virtual Private Network

I am far from being savvy enough to deal with this.

    Question:
    Is the
    TP-LINK TL-WR710N
    what would do the job?
Note that they do not call what they do: VPN.

CNET have discussion on this. I could use friendly translator to understand that, plus, likely what I need is simpler then what they describe.

It is the month of August, on the shores of the Black Sea. It is raining, and the little town looks totally deserted.

It is tough times, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

Suddenly, a rich tourist comes to town.

He enters the only hotel, lays a 100 Euro note on the reception counter, and goes to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one.

The hotel proprietor takes the 100 Euro note and runs to pay his debt to the butcher.

The Butcher takes the 100 Euro note, and runs to pay his debt to the pig grower.

The pig grower takes the 100 Euro note, and runs to pay his debt to the supplier of his feed and fuel.

The supplier of feed and fuel takes the 100 Euro note and runs to pay his debt to the town's prostitute that in these hard times, gave her "services" on credit.

The hooker runs to the hotel, and pays off her debt with the 100 Euro note to the hotel proprietor to pay for the rooms that she rented when she brought her clients there.

The hotel proprietor then lays the 100 Euro note back on the counter so that the rich tourist will not suspect anything.

At that moment, the rich tourist comes down after inspecting the rooms, and takes his 100 Euro note, after saying that he did not like any of the rooms, and leaves town.

No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now without debt, and looks to the future with a lot of optimism.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the United States Government is doing business today.

Have a cold you want to get rid of?

Let me tell you about one of my bio hacks I did on my last cold in 2015 in the winter.
I spent 15 minutes in AM sunlight naked. 7.5 minutes on your front and then 7.5 min on my back.
Then put four ounces of 35 percent hydrogen peroxide (reagent grade) in a gallon of water.
I then ran a cold humidifier in my bedroom all night with this mixture.
My biohack had cold gone in the AM.
    ==============
I did use a LED light on myself that night. It was in UV range. FYI.

This product pretty much changed my life. I was having horrible body issues that doctors and specialists could not figure out. I was in such horrible pain and felt so sick I was at the end of the rope, so a friend recommended a natural doctor in my area. I had parasites literally everywhere in my body and started taking this Paratosin. Within 24 hours I felt like a completely new person and now I actually know what it feels like to not be in pain.
