    Labs before starting TRT:
    Testosterone Total: 157.85
    Sex Hormone Binding: 21.31
    Free testosterone, calc: 3.7

I've been using 2 pumps per day of Androgel 1.62 for about six months.
Had labs done at 3 months with these results:
    Testosterone Total: 335.16
    Sex Hormone Binding: 30.6
    Free testosterone, calc: 7.0

    Should I up the dosage?
Or more accurately ask my GP about it as he'll have to write a different script?

    thanks.

Do you still have low T symptoms?

Definitely feel better. That said, it may be psychological, but the improvements seemed much more intense in the first month or two.

That is what happens to everyone. Then we start looking for ways to get it back and end up going to someone that can help like Dr. Crisler. At some point you have to decide if your happy or you run out of funds trying.

Thanks for the information and advice....I've contemplated a consult with Dr. Crisler.
I like my GP, he's certainly competent, but I'm not sure he's up to speed on TRT.

How realistic are the concerns about TRT and prostate enlargement?
My GP brought it up in our discussion about increasing the Androgel dosage.

Prostate enlargement comes with age just as it could with TRT. If your not getting the results you want you have to decide if its worth the risk. Some studies say by not having T your at risk. Most endo don't like to see total T much higher than 550 and don't look at anything else. If your not going to use a dose that does good why use it? Only testosterone is this way. If you was taking a statin and the dose needed increased they wouldn't ask they just order it.

Your free T is still pretty low. It doesn't need to be at the top of the range, but you are still in the lower. Some people don't absorb gels very well and would do better on shots. That was the case case me.

Thanks for the input....going to try 3 doses and see what happens. Not excited about injectables, but haven't ruled it out....

don't be scared of injectables. you can use a diabetic needle and do them sub-q. painless.
